Lahore: In a significant move to enhance urban aesthetics and sanitation across Punjab, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced the creation of Parks and Horticulture Authorities (PHAs) in each district of the province, aiming to improve the quality of life through rigorous beautification and cleanliness initiatives.
According to Zameen.Com, the Chief Minister detailed her directives during a meeting on August 26, which included mandates for extensive tree planting and the activation of streetlights across all cities within Punjab. This effort is part of a broader strategy to address public concerns by fostering a cleaner, more appealing environment. Maryam Nawaz emphasized the provincial government’s dedication to solving common public issues and enhancing living conditions through systematic urban management.
The meeting was attended by high-level provincial officials including Chief Secretary Zahid Athkar Zaman, Home Secretary Noorul Amin Mengal, and the Inspector General of Police, among others. It featured a comprehensive briefing on the new initiative and discussions on strategies for implementing these enhancements effectively across the province.
Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner of Rahim Yar Khan contributed to the session by presenting a report on the use of Artificial Intelligence software designed to monitor the implementation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), signaling a move towards more technologically driven governance solutions.
