Punjab Green Tractor Scheme Draw Date Set for October 20

Lahore: The Punjab government has announced the draw date for the Green Tractor Scheme 2024, scheduled for October 20, to support local farmers. The scheme aims to distribute 9,500 tractors with significant subsidies, reflecting the government’s commitment to agricultural development.

According to Zameen.Com, the Green Tractor Scheme was approved by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz following the February 8 elections. The decision, made during discussions with PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, included plans for a broader Kissan Package aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity and support. Each beneficiary under this scheme will receive a tractor coupled with a PKR 1 million subsidy, targeted at landowners possessing up to 50 acres.

The distribution of tractors is part of a larger effort by Chief Minister Nawaz to supply 30,000 tractors to Punjab farmers. This initiative aligns with the broader objective of bolstering the provincial agricultural sector.

In addition to agricultural support, the Punjab government has also approved the Children’s Heart Surgery Program. This program is designed to address 12,000 pending surgeries, incorporating expertise from international surgeons to assist with these critical procedures.
