Punjab Minister Aurangzeb Calls for Enhanced Oversight of Development Projects in Lahore

Lahore, Punjab Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb has highlighted the crucial need for strict supervision of development projects within the province to ensure their execution meets the highest standards of quality, speed, and transparency. This emphasis comes as part of a broader effort to ensure the timely completion of critical infrastructure and development initiatives.

According to Zameen.Com, during a recent session, Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman reported to Minister Aurangzeb that the province is currently facilitating 11 World Bank-funded projects and 8 projects funded by the Asian Development Bank. This briefing was part of a comprehensive review to assess the progress and oversight of these significant development undertakings.

In alignment with directives from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Minister Aurangzeb stressed the importance of improving emergency care services in Basic Health Centres across the province. This includes the essential provision of ECG services among other medical facilities, ensuring that basic healthcare is readily accessible to all residents. These directives were issued during a meeting of the Planning & Development Board (P&DB), where the focus was on evaluating the status and management of projects supported by international financing.

The initiative to enhance monitoring and oversight mechanisms reflects the Punjab government's commitment to governance transparency and the efficient use of resources in public projects. By prioritizing quality and accountability in development efforts, the government aims to foster a more robust and accessible infrastructure and healthcare system for its citizens.
