Punjab PDWP Allocates PKR 26 Billion for Major Development Schemes

Islamabad: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of Punjab has approved five key development projects totaling PKR 25.969 billion. These initiatives, aimed at enhancing infrastructure and economic growth in the region, include significant investments in road rehabilitation, dualisation, and urban development. The approval occurred during the 55th meeting of the PDWP for the fiscal year 2023-24.

According to Zameen.Com, The meeting was chaired by Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan, the Chairman of the Planning and Development (P and D) Board. The largest allocation of PKR 13,000 million is dedicated to the rehabilitation of the 93.5 km Multan-Vehari Road, aimed at improving connectivity and transport efficiency. Another significant portion, PKR 11,000 million, will fund the dualisation of the 24 km Faisalabad-Chiniot-Sargodha Road to enhance safety and reduce travel times.

Further allocations include PKR 481.544 million for the construction of a CPO Complex at District Police Lines in Multan, enhancing police operational capabilities. In urban development, PKR 1,011.80 million is designated for improving and extending the sewerage system in Burewala City, and PKR 476.447 million for an urban sewerage scheme in Sargodha City to resolve drainage issues and promote healthier living conditions.
