Punjab to Establish New Museums in Multan and Harappa to Enhance Cultural Preservation

Lahore: The Punjab government has unveiled plans to build new museums in Multan and Harappa as part of efforts to protect and promote the region’s rich historical heritage. These museums aim to deepen public understanding of Punjab’s archaeological treasures and boost cultural tourism.

According to Zameen.Com, Director General of Archaeology Zaheer Abbas Malik discussed the significance of these museums at a recent meeting, highlighting their role in preserving key archaeological sites and artifacts while fostering cultural education. Malik expressed satisfaction with the ongoing progress of related projects and called for the swift completion of any outstanding work to ensure that these facilities meet international standards.

The roadmap for the museums includes detailed timelines for construction, exhibition setups, and their official openings. Malik noted that these cultural institutions are expected to not only safeguard significant historical legacies but also to enhance Pakistan’s image on a global stage by promoting cultural education and tourism.
