RDA Uncovers 149 Illegal Housing Schemes in Rawalpindi, Grants 30-Day Complaint Window.

Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has revealed a significant breach in real estate regulations, identifying 149 illegal housing schemes within the district. Among these, 52 schemes are entirely fake, 73 are non-existent, and 24 are deemed illegal. In a decisive move, the RDA has provided a 30-day period for investors to file any complaints or objections regarding these fraudulent projects.

According to Zameen.Com, the RDA's investigation highlighted that these schemes have misled investors with false promises of high returns on real estate ventures. The authority has called upon affected investors to voice their concerns within the stipulated timeframe. Should investors fail to do so, the RDA will proceed to cancel the files associated with these projects and remove them from its official records.

In a bid to prevent further misconduct, RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza has announced a temporary halt on the approval of new housing schemes in Rawalpindi until the existing issues are resolved. This measure aims to prevent further fraudulent activities and safeguard investor interests.

The fraudulent schemes have been categorized based on their nature: 52 fake schemes lack any legal or physical existence, 73 non-existent schemes are void of land or infrastructure, and 24 illegal schemes have had their subdivisions revoked. This classification is part of the RDA's effort to address the situation comprehensively and transparently.

The RDA continues to emphasize the necessity for potential investors to verify the legitimacy of housing projects prior to investing. The authority urges the public to exercise caution and due diligence in real estate dealings to prevent falling victim to such fraudulent schemes.
