Karachi: The Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP), together with The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), has celebrated reaching a $4 billion export milestone in an event that emphasized sustainability at the historic Mohatta Palace.
According to Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, the event, titled “FOUR – The Quadra Legacy,” not only celebrated the significant achievement in rice exports but also showcased eco-friendly initiatives. These included zero-waste practices, use of recyclable and compostable materials, and reliance on renewable energy sources. The event was aligned with the theme of ‘chaar bagh’, representing the four elements of nature: earth, air, water, and fire, and was further enriched by performances from renowned artists such as Shafqat Amanat Ali.
Chela Ram Kewlani, Chairman of REAP, highlighted the association’s future goals and commitment to sustainability. The event also featured collaborations with local organizations aimed at recycling and tree plantation to further minimize the environmental impact, demonstrating a model for future corporate events focused on environmental consciousness.
