REAP and TDAP Celebrate USD 4 Billion in Rice Exports at Mohatta Palace

Islamabad: The Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) and The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) recently marked a significant achievement by celebrating a USD 4 billion milestone in rice exports. The event, titled “FOUR – The Quadra Legacy,” was hosted at the historic Mohatta Palace, a first for such a sustainability-focused event at this iconic venue.

According to Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, the celebration not only recognized the substantial revenue from rice exports but also highlighted REAP’s commitment to sustainable practices. The event embraced eco-friendly initiatives including the use of recyclable materials, renewable energy, and an educational focus on sustainability, aligning with the symbolic ‘chaar bagh’—four gardens theme that represents the elements of nature: earth, air, water, and fire.

The event featured performances by renowned artists Shafqat Amanat Ali, Khumariyaan, and Lenny Massey, enhancing the cultural richness of the celebration. It also served as a precursor to the upcoming Food and Agriculture Export Trade Show, aiming to further boost international trade relations and showcase Pakistan’s agricultural achievements.

REAP Chairman Mr. Chela Ram Kewlani expressed pride in reaching the USD 4 billion export mark, emphasizing the industry’s growth and sustainable development goals. The event also highlighted ongoing partnerships with local organizations like Paani, Trash-it, and Good Karma, focusing on recycling, reusing, and tree plantation to support environmental sustainability.

The planning and execution of “The Quadra Legacy” by IPG GROUP PAKISTAN and KEARO DESIGN STUDIO were geared towards minimizing waste and promoting eco-conscious practices, setting a new standard for future events and embodying a commitment to both economic success and environmental stewardship.
