Restoration of Direct Flights Between Pakistan and Bangladesh Marks Diplomatic Achievement

Karachi: The restoration of direct air links between Pakistan and Bangladesh marks a significant diplomatic achievement, according to Malik Muhammad Bostan, Chairman of the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan (ECAP). Bostan extended congratulations to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal General Asim Munir, the Pakistani nation, and Bangladeshi officials on the arrival of the first Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight at Karachi Airport from Dhaka after a 14-year hiatus.

According to Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan, the renewed air connectivity is expected to enhance bilateral trade relations and improve diplomatic ties between the two nations. The first flight carried 149 passengers, symbolizing a new chapter in Pakistan-Bangladesh relations. Bostan remarked that the previous diplomatic tensions, attributed to the former Bangladeshi government, have now been resolved.

Bostan also commented on the geopolitical dynamics, noting that attempts by the Indian government to create discord between Pakistan and Bangladesh have failed. He highlighted the enthusiastic reception by the Bangladeshi community in Pakistan upon the flight's arrival, reflecting public support for strengthened bilateral ties.

The resumption of direct flights is anticipated to offer significant logistical benefits. Previously, travelers were required to route through Dubai, extending travel time and costs. The direct route reduces the journey to approximately three hours, offering a more efficient and cost-effective option for passengers.
