Rupee Dips Against Major Currencies, Dollar Nears 282

Islamabad: The Pakistani Rupee continued its downward slide against major international currencies, with the US dollar nearing the 282 mark, according to the latest data released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

The State Bank's weighted average customer exchange rates for August 21, 2025, reveal a weakening Rupee against a basket of currencies. The Greenback closed at 281.6919 for buying and 282.1238 for selling, continuing its upward trajectory.

The British Pound also strengthened, reaching 378.8690 rupees for buying and 379.4562 for selling. The Euro saw a similar trend, closing at 327.9379 for buying and 328.4379 for selling.

Other major currencies also gained ground against the Pakistani Rupee. The Canadian dollar ended at 202.9695 for buying and 203.2759 for selling, while the Australian dollar reached 180.9274 and 181.2099, respectively.

The Swiss Franc was traded at 349.7544 for buying and 350.3053 for selling. The UAE Dirham finished the day at 76.6988 and 76.8091, while the Saudi Riyal closed at 75.0613 and 75.1724 respectively.
