PENGZHOU: Leaders from the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SAARC CCI) have concluded a series of strategic engagements in Pengzhou, Sichuan Province, aimed at bolstering regional economic collaboration. The high-level delegation, including SAARC CCI President Chandi Raj Dhakal and Secretary General Zulfiqar Butt, engaged in industrial site visits and discussions to advance supply chain integration and economic ties between South Asia and China.
According to SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the program was hosted by Pengzhou Municipal Committee of the CPPCC, represented by Chairman Mi Lanjia, Vice Chairman Chen Lunping, and Economic Committee Director Chen Yu. During the visit, Chairman Mi emphasized Pengzhou's commitment to fostering international cooperation and building sustainable connections with South Asian markets to drive mutual industrial advancement.
The visit underscored the potential for collaborative growth within regional value chains, as highlighted by Mr. Dhakal, who identified the tour of Pengzhou's industrial base as transformative. Mr. Butt further noted the agricultural sector's potential, particularly in the South Asian fruit and vegetable market, stressing the need to enhance production capacity and boost exports to China.
The delegation's activities, facilitated by Chengdu Supply Chain Association Chairman Wang Zhichao, included comprehensive site visits to Biaoguo Co., KXD, and YI Textile Manufacturing Company. These visits aimed to explore manufacturing and trade synergies, reflecting SAARC CCI's commitment to fostering industrial partnerships and enhancing regional value chains between South Asia and international partners.
