Karachi: Faisal Moiz Khan, President of the North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (NKATI), has expressed satisfaction regarding the decision to complete two additional multi-purpose berths at Port Qasim. This development is seen as a strategic boost for business growth and exports in Pakistan.

Khan acknowledged the efforts of Haroon Akhtar Khan, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, and emphasized the need for a clear timeline from the Port Qasim Authority for the construction of these berths. He highlighted the importance of repairing and upgrading existing storage facilities at the port to enhance operational efficiency.

The completion of the additional berths is expected to address current logistical challenges, Khan noted. He pointed out that the establishment of truck marshalling yards would lead to a reduction in time and costs associated with the transportation of cement trucks.

Khan expressed strong support for initiatives by Haroon Akhtar Khan aimed at facilitating exporters. He believes these efforts will enhance the competitiveness of Pakistani exporters in international markets, paving the way for increased exports.
