KARACHI: Saudia Airlines, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, marked the nation's successful bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup with a series of distinctive in-flight experiences across more than 30 flights, creating a memorable atmosphere for passengers.
According to Saudia Airlines, captains took the initiative to personally relay the groundbreaking news to passengers, delivering the announcement live from the cockpit. This approach aimed to ensure a memorable and emotional experience for all onboard.
The celebrations included flights illuminated with green lighting, reflecting the colors of the Saudi flag. In-flight entertainment screens displayed the flag alongside a rendition of the song "Fouq Ham Al-Sohib" by the Saudi artist Mohammed Abdu, promoting national pride. On some flights, passengers received specially designed boarding passes, stickers, and mini Saudi flags as keepsakes of the occasion.
A special flight from Jeddah to Dubai offered passengers a 34% bonus in miles, recognizing their participation in this historic milestone for Saudi Arabia's journey to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
