According to a news release by Saudi Arabian Airlines, In a bid to enhance the in-flight experience, SAUDIA introduced its state-of-the-art entertainment system, "Beyond", last year. The system boasts over 5,000 hours of HD content spanning Western and Eastern films, TV shows, E-books, flight information, weather reports, and an in-flight shopping feature. Significantly, Beyond houses the most expansive Islamic content available in-flight, notifying passengers of prayer times throughout their journey. A unique Kid Mode in the system allows children to indulge in their favourite cartoons, movies, and games, making their travel more enjoyable.
Beyond’s utility is not limited to entertainment alone. It offers passengers the ability to monitor their flight's status while en route. Additionally, passengers are privy to real-time sky views during take-off and landing through strategically positioned cameras. Shopping aficionados can browse and purchase the latest products right from their seats, adding another dimension to the in-flight experience.
Highlighting its dedication to enhancing the experience for young passengers, SAUDIA recently bagged the “Best Children Amenities” award from the Canadian publication, Pax Magazine. This recognition was conferred for the airline's thoughtful in-flight children’s entertainment kits offered on all international flights. The kit, lightweight and crafted from eco-friendly materials, contains various child-friendly items. Children can engage with the SAUDIA-themed cartoon characters on colouring books, play with crayons, use volume-controlled earbuds, or wear the provided sleeping masks. These kits are a testament to the airline's vision of ensuring a delightful journey for all its passengers.
Apart from the amenity kit, SAUDIA's commitment to its younger passengers is evident in its provision of special kids’ meals, dedicated in-flight entertainment content for children, and exclusive play areas in the Alfursan lounges.
