SBP Reports Over $8.75 Billion in Roshan Digital Account Inflows Since Launch

Karachi: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has reported that Roshan Digital Accounts (RDA) have attracted more than $8.75 billion in total gross inflows since their inception in September 2020. The initiative, aimed at facilitating investment from overseas Pakistanis, has seen significant engagement.

According to Zameen.Com, of the total inflows, $1.66 billion has been repatriated, and $5.554 billion has been utilized for various investments within Pakistan. As of the end of September 2024, the remaining funds earmarked for potential repatriation or investment stand at approximately $1.533 billion. The investment breakdown shows that conventional Naya Pakistan Certificates (NPCs) attracted $380 million, Islamic NPCs garnered $656 million, and the equity market absorbed $41 million. Additionally, other liabilities amount to $34 million, with a residual balance of $420 million remaining in RDA accounts.
