Seasonal Snowfall Disrupts Travel in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan

Islamabad: The first heavy snowfall of the season has led to the closure of several crucial roads in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), causing significant travel disruptions. Authorities have reported that key routes, including Chilas, Babusar, and Naran, are currently impassable, prompting immediate snow-clearing efforts and travel advisories.

According to Zameen.Com, local administrations are actively responding to the severe weather conditions, having declared multiple roads unsafe for travel due to heavy snow accumulation. In an effort to prevent accidents and ensure public safety, travelers have been strongly advised to refrain from unnecessary journeys until the roads are cleared and safe for use.

The authorities are committed to restoring access as swiftly as possible, with snow-clearing operations already in progress. Meanwhile, travelers are urged to stay updated on weather conditions and adhere to safety guidelines issued by local officials. As winter progresses, maintaining road safety and accessibility remains a priority for the regions affected by the seasonal snowfall.
