Karachi: Sheikh Umer Rehan has been elected unopposed as President of the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), with Syed Farrukh Ali Qandhari taking the position of Senior Vice President and Nasir Sheikh as Vice President. The election results signify a seamless transition in leadership, as all members of the new Executive Committee were also elected unopposed.

According to Korangi Association of Trade and Industry, the election commission, led by Syed Johar Ali Qandhari and comprising Syed Farukh Mazhar and Sheikh Fazal Jalil, announced the newly elected office-bearers and Executive Committee members. The unopposed committee includes Zahid Saeed, Ghazanfar Ali Khan, Rehan Javed, Faizan Javed, Sohail Ilyas, Sohail Elahi, Shabbir Balwani, Yasir Gulzar, Syed Safwan Akif Hussain, Atif Iqbal, Karim Teli, Syed Hasnain Mazhar, and Muhammad Shafi. Amber Ali secured the reserved seat for women.

Sheikh Umer Rehan, who has previously served as KATI President and as Chairman of the Pakistan Vanaspati Manufacturers Association, expressed gratitude to the Patron-in-Chief S. M. Tanveer, Deputy Patron-in-Chief Zubair Chhaya, and other members of the Executive Committee. He affirmed his dedication to addressing industry issues and enhancing cooperation between the government and the business community. Rehan emphasized the importance of promoting industry for national economic strength and expressed commitment to using KATI’s platform to advocate for industrialists’ concerns.
