Karachi: In a significant demonstration of solidarity and support for the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), the Sukkur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) hosted a dinner honoring Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh, the President of FPCCI, ECO-CCI, and Vice President of CACCI. The event was attended by a large number of prominent business leaders from Sindh, with a particular focus on those from Sukkur.
During the gathering, Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh expressed his gratitude towards the business community, attributing his role in national macroeconomic policy-making to the support and feedback from stakeholders across Pakistan's trade and industry sectors.
Mr. Abdul Mohamin Khan, Vice President of FPCCI and Regional Chairman for Sindh, emphasized Mr. Sheikh's leadership in addressing issues such as federal and provincial budgetary challenges, taxation policies, trade and shipping issues, and both domestic and foreign investment impediments.
Muhammad Khalid Kakizai, President of SCCI, highlighted the impact of Mr. Sheikh's patronage on the socioeconomic development of the Sukkur region, noting his effective communication with federal ministries regarding economic and trade policies.
Mr. Ameet Kumar, Senior Vice President of SCCI, discussed the collaborative efforts between SCCI and FPCCI in policy advocacy concerning the provincial economy, particularly in budgetary strategies.
Mr. Malik Muhammad Owais Rais, Vice President of SCCI, praised Mr. Abdul Mohamin Khan for his representation of SCCI within FPCCI, ensuring that the concerns of Sukkur's trade and industry community are addressed at both federal and provincial levels.
Speakers at the event also recognized Mr. S. M. Tanveer, Patron-in-Chief of UBG, for his vision in aligning Pakistan's business community with international best practices in policy advocacy.
