Sindh Cabinet Approves Funds for Key Development Projects in Karachi

Karachi, The Sindh cabinet, led by Chief Minister Maqbool Baqar, has sanctioned funds for several critical development projects in Karachi, including the construction of a link road interchange and the implementation of various urban improvement initiatives.

According to Zameen.Com, the meeting held at CM House in Karachi witnessed the approval of PKR 1.1 billion for the construction of a link road interchange, although the specific location of the project was not disclosed in the report.

Significant allocations were made for other vital projects as part of the development agenda:

• Electric Buses: The cabinet approved PKR 768.6 million for the operation of 50 electric buses on city roads, highlighting a commitment to sustainable urban transport.

• Subsidy for People’s Buses: A subsidy amounting to PKR 579.756 million was granted for intra-district people’s buses, aiming to enhance public transportation.

• Khirthar National Park: An amount of PKR 33.956 million was allocated for the boundary demarcation and installation of boundary pillars in Khirthar National Park, underscoring the government's commitment to environmental conservation.

• West District Schools: The reconstruction of three schools in the West district received a fund of PKR 1424.720 million, reflecting the focus on educational infrastructure.

• Hindu Gymkhana Restoration: The cabinet also approved PKR 115 million for the restoration of the historic Hindu Gymkhana, a move towards preserving cultural heritage.

The meeting included the participation of provincial caretaker ministers, Chief Secretary Dr. Fakhre Alam, P&D Chairman Sahkil Mangnejo, and other relevant officials, indicating a collaborative approach towards these developmental initiatives.
