Sindh CM Launches Smart Surveillance System to Boost Security

Karachi, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has officially launched the Sindh Smart Surveillance System (S4), a new initiative designed to bolster security at key entry and exit points throughout the province. This system, which incorporates facial and number plate recognition technologies, is now operational across 40 toll plazas, including 18 within Karachi itself.

According to Zameen.Com, the project aims to enhance the capabilities of law enforcement agencies to prevent crime, identify suspects swiftly, recover stolen vehicles, and improve overall traffic management. With an investment of Rs1.567 billion in the Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) Camera System, the Chief Minister highlighted the significant role this project plays in creating a safer environment for the citizens of Sindh.

The launch of the S4 project marks a major step forward in Sindh’s efforts to upgrade its security infrastructure and underscores the provincial government's commitment to maintaining public safety with cutting-edge technology.
