Sindh Implements District-Wide Grievance Redressal Cells for Property Disputes

Hyderabad: In an effort to streamline property registration processes and address public complaints effectively, the Sindh Revenue Department has established Public Grievances Redressal Cells across all districts. This initiative targets issues such as delays and bribery allegations in property transactions, including mutation, sales certification, and inheritance entries.

According to Zameen.Com, the Senior Member of the Board of Revenue (SMBR) has officially notified the establishment of these cells, appointing Deputy Commissioners as the leaders of each unit. The cells are tasked with recording all grievances in dedicated registers that are then referred to Assistant Commissioners and Mukhtiarkars at the taluka level for resolution. To improve efficiency and accountability, all complaints will be computerized, and Deputy Commissioners will hold biweekly meetings to ensure swift resolutions and meet with complainants weekly.

The SMBR has also instituted measures to monitor and enhance the performance of these cells, requiring Deputy Commissioners to submit regular reports to divisional commissioners and to identify officers whose performance deficiencies contribute to ongoing grievances. Additionally, directors and commissioners of the department will conduct field office visits to assess the effectiveness of the new system and ensure it meets its goals of enhancing transparency and efficiency in property registration and dispute resolution.
