Sindh to Initiate PKR 120 Billion Jhampir Energy Project

Karachi: In a move poised to revolutionize the regional energy landscape, the Sindh Provincial Energy Minister, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, has announced the launch of the 350MW Jhampir Wind and Solar Hybrid Project. The announcement was made during a pivotal meeting of the Energy Department held to discuss the project's progress and implications.

According to Zameen.Com, the Jhampir Energy Project, valued at approximately PKR 120.865 billion, is designed to complete within 15 months and will significantly bolster Sindh's power supply, particularly to its industrial sectors. The project will feature 36 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 7MW, aimed at producing affordable electricity with an expected annual generation cost of PKR 18.45 billion.

During the meeting, Minister Hussain Shah highlighted the urgency of beginning the project and disclosed plans for further discussions with the Chief Minister of Sindh. Notable attendees included Tariq Ali Shah, Imtiaz Ali Shah, Saleem Ahmed Sheikh, Tariq Saeed, and other senior officials.

The initiative reflects Chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s commitment to implement cost-effective energy solutions as envisioned by Zardari, addressing both energy sustainability and economic growth for the region.
