SITE Association of Industry Elects New Leadership for 2024-26 Term

Karachi: The SITE Association of Industry (SAI) has elected new office bearers for the 2024-26 term during its 60th Annual General Meeting (AGM). Ahmed Azeem Alvi has been chosen as President, with Khalid Riaz as Senior Vice President, and Muhammad Riaz Dhedhi as Vice President. The elections were conducted without opposition, reflecting a unanimous support from the association members.

According to S.I.T.E Association of Industry, Muhammad Tariq Yousuf, the appointments were confirmed at the AGM chaired by Saleem Parekh, Chief Coordinator and former President of SAI. The meeting was held at the SAI office with significant figures from the business community in attendance, including Zubair Motiwala, Chairman of the Businessmen Group (BMG) and Patron-in-Chief of SAI.

The incoming President, Ahmed Azeem Alvi, acknowledged the challenges facing the industry, particularly in the SITE area, such as deteriorating infrastructure and shortages of basic utilities. He pledged to be proactive in addressing these issues and to be accessible to the members. The new leadership, along with the Executive Committee, will officially begin their roles on October 1, 2024.

Chief Coordinator Saleem Parekh and Chairman BMG Zubair Motiwala both expressed their confidence in the new leadership, appreciating the efforts of the outgoing office bearers and emphasizing the need for continued support from experienced members of the association.

The AGM was a gathering of industry leaders, including members of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other town associations, showcasing a collaborative effort to support the incoming and outgoing committees. The event was marked by gratitude towards the outgoing officers and a warm welcome for those stepping into new roles, setting a cooperative tone for tackling future industry challenges.
