SITE Industrialists Commend SSGC for New Gas Pipeline in Karachi

Karachi: The Sindh Industrial Trading Estate (SITE) Association of Industry has expressed strong appreciation for the new dedicated 24-inch diameter, 31-kilometer long high-pressure gas pipeline established for its industrial consumers. This development is expected to significantly enhance gas pressure and efficiency in the area.

According to S.I.T.E Association of Industry, the project was recognized during a reception honoring Muhammad Imran Maniar, Managing Director of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), who has been instrumental in addressing longstanding issues of low and inconsistent gas pressure in the SITE area. His efforts over the past three years culminated in the successful implementation of this critical infrastructure.

During the event, MD SSGC outlined the benefits of the new pipeline, noting its role in separating industrial gas connections from domestic supplies, thereby optimizing pressure management and reducing Unaccounted-for Gas (UFG). The system's automation now enables gas pressure regulation in Karachi with a single touch. Discussions also touched on the future of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) usage, the potential discontinuation of natural gas for domestic consumers, and the transition to LPG cylinders to minimize line losses.

The reception also provided a platform for detailed discussions on RLNG blending, its pricing, and billing strategies. Furthermore, the SITE community expressed future-oriented queries and suggestions, including proposals to replace conventional gas geysers with solar alternatives and considerations for the potential development of a biomass gas plant in the SITE area.

The evening concluded with a presentation of a bouquet and a shield to Muhammad Imran Maniar in recognition of his dedication and the positive impact of his work on the local industrial community.
