Karachi: SPEL Ltd. (SPEL) presented its fiscal year 2026 (FY26) financial outcomes and future strategy during an analyst briefing, revealing a decrease in earnings and revenue. The company's topline reached PkR9.4 billion in FY26, marking a 2.3% decline from the PkR9.6 billion reported in the same period last year, largely due to diminished domestic consumer demand.
According to AKD Securities Limited, SPEL's FY26 earnings stood at PkR1.1 billion, a 9% decrease from the PkR1.3 billion recorded in the same period last year, with earnings per share (EPS) dropping from PkR6.6 to PkR6.0. This decline was attributed to reduced sales and a contraction in margins. The company's gross margins also saw a decrease, settling at 26.3% compared to 26.9% in the previous year.
During the briefing, management noted an increase in raw material costs, which rose to PkR1,500-1,600 per ton from PkR1,100 per ton. This increase was attributed to a significant rise in freight costs, influenced by geopolitical tensions.
