Spotify Reaches 300 Million Premium Subscribers, Reports Strong Q2 2026 Earnings

Karachi: Spotify announced its Second Quarter 2026 earnings, highlighting its achievement as the first audio streaming service to surpass 300 million Premium Subscribers. The company reported accelerated revenue growth and a record-high gross margin, while continuing to introduce features that enhance user interaction and support for artists and creators.

According to Spotify, notable highlights from the Q2 2026 results include a 9% year-over-year increase in Premium Subscribers, reaching 300 million. Monthly Active Users (MAUs) also climbed 12% year-over-year, totaling 777 million. Total revenue saw a 14% year-over-year increase, or 15% when adjusted for constant currency, amounting to €4.8 billion. The company's gross margin improved by approximately 193 basis points year-over-year to 33.4%, and operating income reached €655 million.

Alex Norström, Co-CEO of Spotify, emphasized the scale and opportunities that the company is positioned to pursue. He remarked on Spotify's integration into daily routines, from commuting to dining. Gustav Söderström, Co-CEO, highlighted the company's focus on innovation and stakeholder value creation, stating that Spotify is in the early stages of exploring new possibilities in technology and user engagement.
