Karachi: The State Bank of Pakistan has published the latest Karachi Interbank Offered Rates (KIBOR), which indicate a marginal fluctuation in interest rates across various tenors. The KIBOR rates, effective from September 22, 2026, reflect the borrowing costs for financial institutions within the country.
According to State Bank of Pakistan, the rates for short-term borrowings such as the 1-Week and 2-Week tenors are set at 11.37% and 11.40% for bids, and 11.87% and 11.90% for offers, respectively. The 1-Month tenor stands at 11.45% bid and 11.95% offer. The 3-Month tenor has a bid rate of 11.49% and an offer rate of 11.74%.
For longer durations, the 6-Month tenor is marked at 11.72% bid and 11.97% offer. The 9-Month tenor shows 11.82% for bids and 12.32% for offers, while the 1-Year tenor presents a bid rate of 11.85% and offer rate of 12.35%.
These rates play a crucial role in determining the cost of borrowing and lending in the interbank market, influencing overall economic activity in the country. The State Bank of Pakistan regularly updates these rates to reflect current economic conditions and monetary policy objectives.
