Stock Indices Dip as Trading Volume Surges

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange indices experienced a downturn as both the KSE30 and KSE100 closed lower on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. The KSE30 index fell by 209.51 points to settle at 51,000.17, while the KSE100 index dropped by 419.92 points, closing at 167,642.28.

Despite the fall in indices, the market saw a significant increase in trading volume. The turnover for regular market trading rose to 775,539,719 from the previous 735,521,253. Traded value, however, decreased from 46,186,750,612 to 37,494,555,755.

The market capitalization showed a slight decrease, closing at 19,031,153,477,416 compared to the previous 19,032,154,482,638.

In the derivative futures contracts (DFC) segment, turnover decreased to 189,342,500 from 206,554,500, with a corresponding drop in traded value to 10,000,950,365 from 14,583,384,205.

Open debt lines (ODL) and custodian futures (CSF) also showed varied movements. ODL turnover increased to 2,622 from 1,684, yet CSF turnover decreased to 37,500 from 48,000.
