Karachi: Pakistan's stock indices made gains on the latest trading day, reflecting a broader trend of positive performance in regional markets. The KSE30 index rose by 224.59 points to reach 57,478.24, while the KSE100 index increased by 654.89 points to 187,688.16, marking percentage changes of 0.39% and 0.35% respectively.
According to JS Global, the market capitalization of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) experienced a day-over-day increase of 0.24%, reaching Rs 21,185.01 billion, equivalent to US$ 75.70 billion. The year-to-date changes for the calendar year 2026 for both indices showed growth of 7.83%, while the fiscal year-to-date changes were reported at 50.65% for KSE30 and 49.40% for KSE100.
Among the top gainers, Attock Refinery Limited (ATRL) rose by 6.99%, Adamjee Insurance Company Limited (AICL) by 3.89%, and Mughal Iron and Steel Industries Limited (MUGHAL) by 3.41%. Conversely, Pakistan Gum and Chemicals Limited (PGLC) saw a decline of 3.06%, FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited (FCEPL) fell by 2.30%, and Bank of Punjab (BOP) decreased by 1.77%.
Total trading volume on the PSX was reported at 1,069.31 million shares, with a total value of Rs 49.16 billion, or US$ 175.64 million. The 52-week high for the KSE100 index was recorded at 188,621.78, while the 52-week low was 103,526.82.
In the regional context, different Asian markets such as Korea's KOSPI and Taiwan's TWII showed significant gains, with increases of 0.9% and 1.6%, respectively. Meanwhile, the Indian BSESN index also posted a 0.5% rise, whereas Indonesia's JKSE experienced a slight decline of 0.2%.
