Stock Indices Plunge as Market Experiences Significant Losses


Karachi: The stock market faced a substantial downturn, with key indices experiencing significant declines. The KSE30 index dropped by 1,629.79 points, closing at 53,198.53, while the KSE100 index fell by 5,149.79 points, ending the day at 174,453.94. This represents decreases of 2.97% and 2.87%, respectively.



According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the market saw a turnover of 773,291,012 for REG, up from the previous 708,968,370, with a traded value of 46,242,044,144, compared to the prior 38,887,356,876. Market capitalization also decreased from 20,359,556,629,581 to 19,781,638,125,138. For DFC, turnover was 194,367,500, with a traded value of 11,955,604,135. ODL recorded a turnover of 1,109 and a traded value of 21,637. CSF showed no trading activity.



The decrease in indices and market capitalization indicates a significant shift in the trading environment, reflecting broader economic conditions and investor sentiment.
