Stock Indices Slide Amid Declining Turnover at Pakistan Stock Exchange

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed a downturn on December 3, 2025, as major indices fell and market turnover decreased. The KSE30 index closed at 50,496.18, a decrease of 503.99 points or 0.99%. Meanwhile, the KSE100 index ended the day at 166,145.35, down by 1,496.93 points or 0.89%.

Trading activity reflected the bearish trend, with the market turnover declining significantly. The regular market (REG) saw a turnover of 593,078,642, down from the previous 775,539,719. The traded value in the regular market increased to 44,424,349,404 from 37,494,555,755.

Despite the increased traded value, the market capitalization saw a reduction, standing at 18,915,563,442,945 compared to 19,031,153,477,416 previously. This shift indicates a cautious trading environment among investors.

The debt-financing contracts (DFC) segment reported a turnover of 195,835,000, up from 189,342,500 in the previous session. The traded value in this segment was 13,364,123,415, significantly higher than the preceding session's 10,000,950,365.

Overall, the day's trading session highlighted a downturn for the Pakistan Stock Exchange, with both major indices showing declines and a noticeable drop in market turnover, pointing to investor caution in the current market climate.
