Stock Market Sees Modest Gains as KSE100 and KSE30 Indices Climb

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed a modest uptick in activity as both the KSE100 and KSE30 indices recorded gains on the trading day. The KSE100 index rose by 809.11 points, closing at 151,207.81, while the KSE30 index increased by 245.88 points, reaching 45,699.24. The day's trading saw a total volume of 457.21 million shares, with a total value of Rs. 30.88 billion.

According to JS Global, the KSE100 index's gainers included Standard Chartered Bank Pakistan (SCBPL) with an increase of 4.37% to Rs. 56.39, and International Steels Limited (ISL) rising by 3.94% to Rs. 70.66. On the losing side, EFU General Insurance Limited (EFUG) fell by 6.39% to Rs. 115.06, and United Bank Limited (UBL) decreased by 6.32% to Rs. 306.10.

The Pakistan Stock Exchange's market capitalization rose by 0.58% to Rs. 16,822.76 billion, while in the regional markets, India's BSE Sensex climbed by 1.1%, and South Korea's KOSPI showed a significant increase of 1.4%. Conversely, Malaysia's KLSE and Indonesia's JKSE experienced declines of 0.9% and 0.5%, respectively.
