Stock Market Sees Significant Gains as KSE100 Index Hits All-Time High

Karachi: The stock market experienced substantial growth today, with the KSE100 index reaching an unprecedented high of 133,782.34 points. The index saw a daily increase of 1,205.36 points, marking a 0.91% rise. Among the day's top gainers, Maple Leaf Cement Factory Limited (MEHT) led with a 10% increase, followed by Adamjee Insurance Company Limited (AICL) and Bank of New York Mellon (BNWM), which saw gains of 10% and 9.75%, respectively.

The market capitalization of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) rose to Rs 16,210.56 billion, a 0.76% increase from the previous day, reflecting strong investor confidence. In terms of volume, the Bank of Punjab (BOP) emerged as the leader, with 155.38 million shares traded.

Despite the gains, several stocks experienced a decline. Pace (Pakistan) Limited (PSEL) faced the most significant drop, with a 5.34% decrease. Other notable decliners included Packages Limited (PKGP) and National Refinery Limited (NRL), which fell by 1.75% and 1.35%, respectively.

Regionally, the stock market's performance varied. While Korea's KOSPI saw a 1.6% increase, indicating a robust year-to-date growth of 32.7%, India's BSESN experienced a 0.4% drop. Overall, the market's robust performance was driven by strong trading volumes, with a total of 941.72 million shares valued at Rs 36.06 billion exchanged.

As the fiscal year progresses, the year-to-date growth for the calendar year 2025 stands at 16.20%, while the fiscal year 2026 shows a 6.49% increase. The market's positive trajectory underscores investor optimism and a favorable economic outlook.
