Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange experienced a minor setback on Wednesday as both the KSE30 and KSE100 indices recorded declines. The KSE30 index fell by 68.01 points, closing at 52,169.49, while the KSE100 index dropped by 243.51 points to end the day at 170,830.22.
The trading session saw the KSE30 index reach a high of 52,395.19 and a low of 52,098.80. Similarly, the KSE100 index peaked at 171,587.32 before sliding to a low of 170,641.13. The percentage changes for the indices were -0.13% and -0.14%, respectively.
Market turnover showed an increase, with 811,558,234 shares traded compared to the previous session's 650,136,340. The traded value also saw an uptick, reaching 29,794,969,939 from 28,256,737,868. Despite the increased activity, market capitalization slightly decreased from 19,396,800,910,051 to 19,360,541,327,719.
In the market segments, the DFC category showed a turnover of 720,406,000 shares, up from 575,828,000, with a traded value increase from 36,647,133,510 to 37,983,233,965. The ODL and CSF segments saw reduced activities in both turnover and traded values.
The data from the Pakistan Stock Exchange highlighted a day of negative sentiment, despite a higher volume of trading activity.
