Stock Market Sees Slight Decline as Indices Edge Lower

Karachi: The stock market witnessed a slight decline on Thursday as both the KSE30 and KSE100 indices closed lower than the previous trading day. The KSE30 index settled at 44,877.05, marking a decrease of 30.91 points, while the KSE100 index ended at 147,343.51, down by 150.52 points.

Despite the downward trend, the market saw an increase in trading activity. The turnover for the regular market reached 935,466,958, up from 856,664,471 shares traded previously. The traded value also climbed, reaching 33,515,952,053 from a prior 29,286,812,346.

However, the futures market showed a decline in both turnover and traded value. The turnover decreased to 423,223,000 from 437,552,500, and the traded value dropped to 23,467,078,050 from 24,076,089,845.

Market capitalization saw a slight increase, reaching 17,535,894,673,007, up from 17,529,593,639,708. The overall market sentiment remained cautious as investors weighed the current market conditions.
