Karachi: The stock market faced a downturn on Thursday, with the KSE30 and KSE100 indices both experiencing significant declines. The KSE30 index fell by 367.30 points to close at 49,842.51, while the KSE100 index dropped by 1,286.28 points, ending the day at 163,304.13.
The market witnessed fluctuations throughout the day, with the KSE100 reaching a high of 165,025.86 and a low of 163,041.98. Similarly, the KSE30 saw a high of 50,316.00 and a low of 49,628.26. The percentage change for the KSE30 was recorded at -0.73, while the KSE100 saw a decrease of 0.78 percent.
Trading volumes also saw a decline, with the regular market turnover at 1,041,172,661, down from the previous 1,504,577,425. The traded value in the regular market dropped to 35,016,764,398 from 49,517,206,893.
Market capitalization also showed a decrease, with current figures at 18,814,580,142,793 compared to the previous 18,999,217,272,091.
Futures turnover and traded value mirrored this downward trend, with turnovers falling to 235,135,500 from 367,567,500 and the traded value dropping to 9,409,880,275 from 13,226,361,980.
The off-deal market, however, experienced a slight increase in turnover and traded value, with the turnover rising to 521 from 305 and traded value reaching 9,216 from 5,659.
