Karachi: Pakistan's stock markets experienced a downturn as both the KSE-30 and KSE-100 indices recorded losses during the latest trading session. The KSE-30 index fell by 260.85 points, closing at 50,456.98, while the KSE-100 index dropped by 825.22 points to end at 169,600.41.
According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the indices faced fluctuations with the KSE-30 reaching a high of 50,874.05 and a low of 50,431.84. Similarly, the KSE-100 index peaked at 170,944.35 and hit a low of 169,538.23 during the trading hours. The percentage decline for the KSE-30 and KSE-100 indices stood at 0.51% and 0.48%, respectively.
Market turnover saw a noticeable increase, with 568,040,396 shares traded in the Regular (REG) market, compared to the previous turnover of 421,015,660 shares. Traded value in the REG market rose to 20,812,517,064 from 17,736,266,798. Market capitalization, however, decreased to 18,890,040,972,050 from 18,961,539,861,362. Despite the overall decline in indices, the Daily Futures Contract (DFC) market showed a slight increase in both turnover and traded value, while the Odd Lot (ODL) market also witnessed a marginal rise in activity.
