Stocks Decline as KSE Indices Experience Downturn

Karachi: The stock market witnessed a decline on Monday as both the KSE30 and KSE100 indices recorded losses, reflecting a broader downturn in the market. The KSE30 index closed at 51,021.03, down by 457.52 points, while the KSE100 index fell by 609.51 points to settle at 170,506.31, marking percentage decreases of 0.89 and 0.36, respectively.

According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the day's trading saw an increase in turnover with 1,103,296,728 shares traded in the regular market, up from 1,025,269,252 shares in the previous session. Despite the increased trading activity, the traded value fell to 31,044,643,693 from 36,667,919,474. Market capitalization also saw a dip, decreasing from 18,903,426,827,344 to 18,869,951,865,728.

Further details indicate that the Deliverable Futures Contracts (DFC) registered a turnover of 228,271,500 shares, with a traded value of 9,060,355,875, marking an increase from the previous session. However, trades in Odd Lot Deals (ODL) and Continuous Funding System (CSF) remained minimal, with the latter witnessing a slight activity of 500 shares traded, valued at 75,000.
