Karachi: In a day of upward movement, the Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed notable gains with the KSE100 index rising by 0.58% and the KSE30 index increasing by 0.65%, closing at 171,175.52 and 51,222.50 points, respectively. The market capitalization also reflected this positive trend, showing a 0.63% increase to reach Rs 18,983.14 billion.
According to JS Global, the KSE100 index saw significant contributions from gainers such as PIBTL, which rose by 3.90% to a price of 17.32, and PIOC, which increased by 3.53% to 275.46. Meanwhile, the PSX market capitalization in US dollars stood at $68.18 billion. Despite the daily gains, the year-to-date changes for the calendar year 2026 remained negative, with the KSE100 index down by 1.65% and the KSE30 index by 3.90%.
The trading volume for the day reached 697.17 million shares, with a total value of Rs 26.14 billion. The volume leaders included BECO and PIBTL, with volumes of 113.09 million and 32.17 million shares, respectively. Negative performers for the day included PGLC and GADT, which saw price decreases of 3.09% and 2.03%, respectively. Overall, the PSX demonstrated resilience with promising day-to-day changes in indices and market capitalization.
