Tajik Ambassador Proposes Enhanced Bilateral Cooperation in Islamabad Meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif

Islamabad: Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir, met with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad to discuss ways to bolster bilateral relations through various cooperative initiatives. The meeting underscored the continuing diplomatic engagement between the two nations, focusing on sectors such as education, agriculture, defense, and regional connectivity.

According to Zameen.Com, during the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reflected positively on his recent trip to Dushanbe, noting the productive dialogues with President Emomali Rahmon and the potential of agreements signed to enhance cooperation. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of implementing these agreements swiftly to benefit both countries and extended an invitation to President Rahmon to visit Pakistan.

The discussions also covered proposals from Ambassador Toir aimed at improving connectivity and cooperation in key areas, which the Prime Minister welcomed, instructing relevant ministries to explore these further. The CASA-1000 project, a regional electricity supply initiative, was among the topics discussed, highlighting the commitment of both nations to deepening economic and strategic ties.
