Tamasha Secures Rights for International Streaming of Pakistan Cricket Matches

Islamabad: Tamasha, Pakistan’s largest home-grown streaming platform, has expanded its reach internationally by securing the rights to stream Pakistan’s upcoming cricket matches against Bangladesh and England, marking a significant milestone in its global expansion.

According to Jazz Pakistan, Tamasha has partnered with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to offer international streaming of the test matches scheduled with Bangladesh in August and September, and with England in October. This development enhances Tamasha’s offerings beyond its national audience, extending access to cricket fans in sub-Saharan Africa and India, areas with significant interest in cricket.

Launched in October 2021, Tamasha has grown to become a pivotal player in Pakistan’s digital landscape, accessible to customers of all mobile operators in the country and boasting 18 million monthly active viewers as of June 2024. In addition to international cricket, Tamasha holds exclusive streaming rights to the 2024-2025 ICC Men’s and Women’s tournaments in Pakistan, further solidifying its position in the sports streaming market.

Aamer Ejaz, President of Digital Platforms at Jazz, highlighted the transformative role of digital streaming platforms in how fans globally engage with sports. “We are proud to bring some of the world’s greatest cricket events to viewers not only in Pakistan but also to fans in sub-Saharan Africa and India, delivering content in the most accessible way possible,” said Ejaz. During the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2024 in July, Tamasha reached peak engagement with 9 million daily active users and recorded significant viewership, securing the top ranking on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
