TDAP Unveils Preferential Trade Access Database to Enhance Pakistan’s Export Capabilities

Karachi: The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) jointly inaugurated the Preferential Trade Access Database (PTAD) at the FPCCI Head Office in Karachi. The launch is aimed at expanding Pakistan's export footprint by providing detailed trade intelligence to local exporters and international buyers.

According to Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the PTAD is designed to offer comprehensive information on Pakistan's preferential market access globally, featuring structured intelligence across 29 Preferential Trade Arrangements in 95 countries. Atif Ikram Sheikh, President of FPCCI, emphasized the database's role in bridging the information gap for exporters, importers, and manufacturers, enabling them to leverage international trade opportunities effectively.

Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, addressing the inaugural session, highlighted the database's capability to facilitate export decisions by detailing tariff advantages, Rules of Origin, and documentation requirements. The platform allows users to search for products by HS Code or description, providing updated insights, including the Pakistan-Uzbekistan PTA expansion, which is expected to bolster regional trade.

Abdul Karim Memon, Director General of TDAP, underscored the database's significance as an institutional milestone in global market access for Pakistan. He stated that the platform empowers businesses to maximize tariff benefits and drive sustainable export growth by consolidating information on trade arrangements. The joint initiative with FPCCI aims to enhance regulatory compliance and improve the competitiveness of Pakistani products in international markets.

The FPCCI noted that PTAD facilitates effortless product searches and compliance guidance, aligning with the country's regional trade ambitions. The event concluded with a commitment from both TDAP and FPCCI to advance trade intelligence, market access, and export growth.
