Islamabad: Telenor Velocity, the startup accelerator of Telenor Pakistan, has teamed up with the GSMA to bolster the growth of Pakistan’s startup sector. This partnership aims to leverage the GSMA Innovation Fund and Telenor’s resources to accelerate development and market introduction for high-potential startups.

According to Telenor Pakistan, the collaboration will offer targeted support to startups that have secured funding from the GSMA Innovation Fund, providing them with critical telecom partnerships through Telenor Velocity. This includes access to Telenor’s broad customer base, IoT Cloud Platform integration, and various other resources like API integration, marketing support, and technology development tools.

Areej Khan, Chief People Officer at Telenor Pakistan, emphasized the commitment to nurturing local tech talent and enriching the startup ecosystem with necessary tools and mentorship. Max Cuvellier Giacomelli, Head of GSMA Mobile for Development, also expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the potential to significantly impact the local market by equipping startups with essential resources.
