Baku: Tetra Pak, a leader in food processing and packaging solutions, has endorsed the Paris Dairy Declaration on Sustainability at the 29th United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP) in Baku. This initiative, launched by the International Dairy Federation (IDF) and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Paris in October 2024, aims to support the sustainable transition of the dairy sector.

According to Tetra Pak, the endorsement took place at the Swedish Pavilion during a meeting between IDF President Gilles Froment and Tetra Pak's Executive Vice President for Processing Solutions and Equipment, Charles Brand. The Paris Dairy Declaration emphasizes the dairy sector's commitment to addressing environmental, social, and economic dimensions and aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Gilles Froment highlighted the endorsement as a significant move, inviting other dairy organizations to follow suit in supporting the declaration. Charles Brand reiterated Tetra Pak's commitment to sustainability in the dairy industry, emphasizing the importance of transformative change in food systems.

The Paris Dairy Declaration on Sustainability continues efforts initiated by the Dairy Declaration of Rotterdam in 2016, addressing the UN 2030 agenda with a focus on diverse aspects of sustainability, including climate, nutrition, and economic security.
