TikTok and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority Launch DigitalHifazat Contest to Promote Digital Safety

Karachi: TikTok, in partnership with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), has launched the DigitalHifazat Contest, a new initiative designed to enhance digital safety awareness among Pakistan’s youth. The contest encourages TikTok users to create videos that promote responsible online behavior and educate others on maintaining a safe digital environment.

According to TikTok, the DigitalHifazat Contest focuses on six critical areas: responsible social media usage, combating online harassment, preventing online fraud, ensuring youth safety and well-being, understanding TikTok’s safety tools, and addressing misinformation on social platforms. The goal is to empower users to contribute positively to the online community by sharing their knowledge and experiences related to these topics.

Participants are invited to submit their entries by tagging @ptaofficialpk and using the hashtag DigitalHifazat on their videos, which must adhere to TikTok’s Community Guidelines. The videos will be judged on content quality, relevance, and compliance with guidelines. The winners will be announced on the contest’s official hashtag page, with the top prize being an Apple iPad Air and two runners-up receiving Samsung smartphones. The contest, open to users aged 13 and above, will run from October 20th to November 5th, 2024.

This collaborative effort between TikTok and the PTA underscores their shared commitment to promoting digital literacy and safety, aiming to foster a more informed and responsible online community in Pakistan.
