Karachi: TikTok has become FIFA's first-ever Preferred Platform under a new partnership that will span until the end of 2026. According to TikTok, this collaboration aims to enhance fans' digital experience of the FIFA World Cup 2026 through expanded official coverage and interactive fan engagements.
The agreement will allow TikTok to provide extensive coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2026, including original content and interactive football experiences, making it a central hub for fans and content creators. This partnership builds on the previous collaboration between TikTok and FIFA during the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023, which saw significant global digital engagement.
TikTok's role as the Preferred Platform will be highlighted by an immersive FIFA World Cup 2026 hub. This feature, powered by TikTok GamePlan, will offer engaging content, match information, and fan participation incentives such as custom stickers and gamification features.
Mattias Grafström, FIFA Secretary General, expressed that the collaboration aims to share the excitement of the FIFA World Cup 2026 with a broader audience, emphasizing TikTok's role in connecting fans globally. James Stafford, Global Head of Content at TikTok, noted the platform's growing influence in football and its potential to offer fans a unique experience beyond the standard 90-minute match format.
Additionally, the partnership will introduce a global creator program, granting selected creators access to exclusive content, including press conferences and training sessions. This initiative aims to offer fans distinctive perspectives on the World Cup, further enriching their experience.
