Karachi: The United Business Group (UBG) has expressed strong support for Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir following his recent engagement with Karachi’s business leaders. General Munir’s commitment to addressing key economic issues, such as high industrial electricity tariffs and infrastructure challenges, has been met with approval from the business community.
According to United Business Group, General Munir’s dialogue with business leaders highlighted a proactive approach towards reducing electricity costs for industries and improving road infrastructure in commercial areas. These measures have instilled a renewed sense of optimism among entrepreneurs who have been grappling with economic difficulties.
The business group also praised the COAS for his acknowledgment of the business sector’s role in national economic growth and his efforts to mitigate issues like cross-border smuggling and illegal currency flows. These actions are credited with helping stabilize the Pakistani Rupee and reducing inflation pressures.
The UBG additionally highlighted the positive impact of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), which has been instrumental in promoting economic growth by streamlining processes and reducing bureaucratic hurdles for businesses. The council’s work, alongside General Munir’s assurances, has significantly buoyed confidence among business leaders about Pakistan’s economic future.
