Karachi: Urea fertilizer offtakes in October 2026 surged by 39% year-on-year, while diammonium phosphate (DAP) exhibited a significant month-on-month recovery, according to the latest industry analysis.
According to JS Global, the urea offtake for October is estimated at 487,000 tons. This increase is largely attributed to strong demand at the onset of the Rabi season. However, the figures represent a 19% decrease from the previous month, which had experienced a high base due to dealer stockpiling in September. During this period, Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC) is expected to maintain a leading position with a 53% market share, followed by Engro Fertilizers (EFERT) and Fatima Fertilizer (FATIMA) with 28% and 11% shares, respectively.
Meanwhile, DAP offtakes in October are estimated at 166,000 tons, marking a 144% increase from the previous month. This rise is driven by increased phosphatic demand as wheat sowing began, despite high prices limiting the overall volume compared to the previous year. Cumulatively, the year-to-date figures for 2026 show that urea offtakes have reached approximately 4.9 million tons, a 7% increase from the previous year, while DAP offtakes have decreased by 7% to 941,000 tons.
