Walton Road Upgradation Advances with Asphalt Layering in Lahore

Lahore: The Walton Road Upgradation Project has achieved a significant milestone with the commencement of asphalt layering, marking an important phase in enhancing the city’s infrastructure connectivity. This development is part of a broader initiative by the Central Business District Punjab (CBD Punjab) to facilitate smoother traffic flow and promote sustainable urban growth.

According to Zameen.Com, the asphalt layering began from Defence Morr and is progressing towards the Major Ishaq Shaheed Flyover. In its first phase, approximately 900 tons of asphalt have been laid. The project aims to extend the work from Ferozepur Road back to Defence Morr, ultimately resulting in a fully operational six-lane carriageway.

Imran Amin, CEO of CBD Punjab, is personally overseeing the project to ensure that all necessary machinery is in place and that the asphalt layering proceeds without interruption. Riaz Hussain, Executive Director Technical, confirmed that the project is on schedule and expected to complete both carriageways by the end of October 2024, in accordance with directives from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

This initiative underscores CBD Punjab’s commitment to improving Lahore’s urban infrastructure, aiming to significantly enhance the city’s traffic dynamics and support its ongoing development.
