Zindigi Introduces Overseas Accounts for Pakistanis Abroad

Karachi: Zindigi, powered by JS Bank, has launched Zindigi Overseas Accounts, allowing Pakistanis living abroad to open and manage bank accounts in Pakistan entirely digitally, without the need for a Pakistani mobile number or a branch visit. This initiative aims to simplify and expand access to banking services for Pakistanis worldwide.

According to Zindigi, the new service enables overseas Pakistanis to register using their international WhatsApp numbers and open a digital bank account with an International Bank Account Number (IBAN), moving beyond traditional digital wallets. The accounts are designed to meet the financial needs of overseas Pakistanis, allowing them to support family, pay utility bills, manage household expenses, and make local transfers through the Zindigi App.

The digital onboarding facility is available to holders of a Pakistan Origin Card (POC), National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP), or Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC). Customers can select either a Non-Resident Account Repatriable (NRAR) or Non-Resident Account Non-Repatriable (NRAN), based on their financial needs and regulatory requirements.

Noman Azhar, Co-Founder and Chief Officer of Zindigi by JS Bank, emphasized the vision of making banking accessible and borderless for Pakistanis, enabling them to manage accounts digitally with their international mobile numbers. This launch underscores Zindigi's commitment to digital innovation in banking, removing traditional barriers and extending financial services to Pakistanis beyond geographical boundaries.
